Founded in 2007, the League of Women Voters in Pompton Lakes, NJ has successfully proposed coverage for council meetings, hosted candidate forums running for Borough Council and conducted voter registrations days.
The league is a non-partisan political organization that encourages active and informed participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League does not support or oppose any candidate or party. Operating on a non-profit, voluntary basis, its work is financed by dues and contributions from members and the general public. Membership is open to all citizens of voting age
Passaic County Introduces New Voting Equipment in time for Early Voting this October 2021
A much needed update to the voting equipment for Passaic County was recently made, to comply with New Jersey’s new early voting law. According to Anthony DeNova, the county administrator, the required electronic poll books and other upgrades should ease the voting process. NJ Offers Early Voting for the November 2021 General Election
NJ voters are now able to vote early in-person at a limited number of polling locations. Early voting will be available from October 23, 2021 to October 31, 2021. During this time, the polls will be open from 10am-8pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and from 10am-6pm on Sundays. Check with your county for early voting polling locations or go to the NJ Voter Information Portal. If you are currently signed up for annual Vote-by-Mail but would like to switch to Early In-Person voting you must Opt-Out of Vote-by-Mail. Mail ballots will be sent out starting at the beginning of September so Opt-Out soon!
