Founded in 2007, the League of Women Voters in Pompton Lakes, NJ has successfully proposed coverage for council meetings, hosted candidate forums running for Borough Council and conducted voter registrations days.
The league is a non-partisan political organization that encourages active and informed participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League does not support or oppose any candidate or party. Operating on a non-profit, voluntary basis, its work is financed by dues and contributions from members and the general public. Membership is open to all citizens of voting age.

September 8, 2020 – The registration deadline for the upcoming General Election is Thursday, October 13, 2020. Be sure to re-register if you move, if you change your name, or if you have finished a sentence of incarceration.
To register in New Jersey, you must be:
- A United States citizen
- At least 17 years old, though you may not vote until you have reached the age of 18
- A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
- A person not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States
